The inspiration for this track was one night at Netty's shop, a twice-weekly gathering of people in Cardiff that happened every week for at least ten years, and that has sadly stopped now, since the shop has closed.
One of the regular DJs, I believe it was probably Jason aka Doghouse (formerly of Sicknote) was playing and I asked if he could put on something from Ian Brown's Ripples that had been quite recently released.
My recollection is that the album was playing with dance tracks still playing simultaneously, which actually sounded great, and so it occurred to me that a dance mix of one of the more stripped down songs on Ripples, Raining Diamonds, might work well.
Jason, aka Flapsandwich, also formerly of Sicknote, got to work on it, and we have here the result of what he came up with. A great little indie-disco tune, I would say.
I'd quite like to see this come out on vinyl, possibly one Record Store Day, perhaps a little one-sided 12" single. Ideally would be with Ian Brown's permission, or that of his label, but who knows, perhaps we'll end up doing a bootleg?
