This is the result of something like a 4 month project. The lyrics were first penned by Nick Fisk - occasional writer for Louderthanwar and author of Cardiff City based book, "The Blues Are Back in Town" - while on an ICU at (the new closed) Whitchurch Hospital, Cardiff early in 2016. In spite of the fact that recording devices were not allowed on the ward, the song was indeed recorded on the ward, put to a very rough tune by a fellow patient on an acoustic guitar. The WAV of this was sent to an American producer, Kyle Dunaway, via Upwork, who then set out to turn the song into a fully fledged recording with the remit to "make it sound something like The Stone Roses". This recording was then topped and tailed and sped up slightly. A local singer, Nick Russell was brought in to re-record the vocal at Reel Time Recording Studio in Cardiff. Nick also added some additional guitar work to beef up the ending. Meurig at Reel Time mastered the track into what you hear now.

Track Name: Daybreak

Guitar Intro

Chorus (beginning):

Show me your sunshine
As it pours through bright red drawers
And every time I wake up
I’ll show you more I’m yours

The love pouring through your body
Opened up my eyes
And now I’m walking the plank
On my ribbon in the sky

Verse 1:

The first time we went out
And we got a little drunk
When darkness fell
She turned out to be a (little) scamp

But it wasn’t a prank
Oh no it wasn’t a prank

And now I’m walking the plank
On my ribbon in the sky

Repeat Chorus (with second section change now to:
I walk the plank
On my ribbon in the sky, yeah)

Inst break (Oh-oh)

Verse 2:

Trying not to keel over
Trying to keep the dream alive
I’m alive, Jesus I’m alive

Jesus wept said the guy at the back
When I leave, Jesus bring her back
Cos I can’t stay
I’ve found a home, even though I’m alone, yeah

Chorus x2 (second time higher pitch)

Guitar Solo

The ribbon, the ribbon in the sky, oh x2
